today is a sad day....

Today around 10 am Tomax escaped out of the house and bolted for the rd. He was killed instantly by a moving truck. I'm so sad. Peanut and Xamot kind of realize he's missing I think. I love Tomax with all my heart. Please say a prayer for him to go to heaven. Thanks guys I love yall.

Members are our lifeblood, our source of leadership, and the visible testament to our success. A thriving membership doesn't just happen; it requires good planning and year-round attention. Keeping this in mind, then, our chapter should make each member appreciate that the NPA offers an experience is unique and of utmost importance to him or her.

Membership development is critical to the future of the Mohawk Valley Chapter of the NPA.

New members are important for our growth and prosperity because they:

• Provide a range of personal resources and knowledge that can strengthen the NPA
• Provide a succession of leaders for officer and committee roles
• Provide the financial means to continue operations and add new programs /events
• Replace members the NPA loses each year due to retirement or relocation of members

Membership development has two components: attract new members / retain members and motivate involvement by creating a welcoming environment to all. Of all the investments we have all made over the past year, NPA membership is one the continues to pay a dividend through education and networking. Your membership is an investment in you and your profession. As NP's we continue to grow in value to the healthcare system, and while Wall Street has it crashes we still remain the best value in healthcare bail outs.

(7:50 pm Friday)
Mission accomplished. I got my pacemaker his morning. The procedure lasted about 45-minutes. I had a surgical team of all-stars led by Dr. Sheldon Brownstein. Although, they could not honor my musical request for the operating room, "Alive and Kicking" by Simple Minds. I can't recall who we listened to.
I was awake the entire time. They make an incision near my shoulder and slide it in. I  had good Karma going in, my patient wristband started with the numbers 41902......which is darn close to Pete Rose's record breaking hit 4192. The signifigance of that was lost on the nurses.
Afterwards I felt great....thinking it was a piece of cake. I had lunch in my room with Kelly. Then it hit me. It must have been a train....or the drugs wearing off.
I thought I was having a heart attack. It felt like an elephant on my chest, I thought if I took a deep breath I was done. I acually felt ten times worse than Tuesday.
Two percocet later I was much better.
Tonight I'm just hanging out in the room, hoping to go home Saturday. I have my left arm in a sling and can't raise it or use it for a couple of days. I chose the left side for the pacemaker because I write with my left hand and hold my cellphone to my right ear. They don't want you to hold the cellphone on the same side.
Dr. Brownstein autographed my x-ray with the pacemaker inside of me. Very cool looking. Can't thank you guys enough for all the emails with thoughts and prayers. Gotta go....nurses are going door to door with ice cream!!
PS Did Marvin really opt for a field goal?

Trawling through the internet pages on sailing magazines I was thunderstruck to find that the owners of Sailing today(USA or UK?) have sold their subscription list to what is apparently a dating agency.    It seems that the rules of mating are changing and that women are constructing a hunting list using magazine subscription lists. Even geeks are not safe.

went back out to 3 lakes and the only buck i saw was on the road on the drive in at 5 am. i did see 2  does at 7 am. finished moving my ladder stand. put up shooting rail and camo burlap. sat there for the afternoon hunt but did not see anything. will hit it again next week. i stay away from wma's on the weekends. to many weekenders. during the week it seems i have the whole 26,000 acres to myself.
